I was with my six year old nephews yesterday just hanging around doing nothing. We were on the couch just bonding when my sister, their mom gave us all pens and papers to write our New Year’s resolutions and 2010 plans. I don’t like making resolutions because I would not even do them. I just wrote the following plans.

1. Visit home at least once a month.

2. Go to mass regularly.

3. Save more money and go to a solemn vacation –maybe with the monks!

When I asked my six year old nephew what else I should write, he told me to get a better life insurance,one that does not close down. Whoa! How did he know about my insurance? What does he know about insurance? He is six years old! Kids now adays, they are smarter than us!?

Christmas Sale

They still have Christmas sale at the malls. Even the counter displays are on sale. We hang out the mall yesterday and saw a lot of on sale stuff. There were so many people hanging out as well so we decided not to be there too long. The Christmas sale must be the reason of the rush. It just shows that the holidays are not yet over. I’m pretty sure there will be a New Year sale soon as well. I just hope we still have money after the holidays! LOL!

For those who are regular people, many had decided to get an insurance only when they started working. This coming holidays, I have already a full schedule of house invitation for lunch or dinner. My inlaws are preparing for a family gathering and some friends also invited us to their lunch or dinner Christmas party. For this time I will not be on diet but to have a lot of burn out exercises after the holiday. Anyway its time to feast out and just enjoy the merrymaking with our loves ones.

Weekend that was

Last weekend I did some cleaning and accidentally I broke one of the side lamshade. So after doing my chores I went to buy for a replacement. At the shop I saw my brother in law who was also buying Christmas lights. That reminded me that I have still another to do list that I forgot. That is bringing out the christmas tree decor. I thought to do the next day since hubby has a day off and he can help me.

Discount Shopping

This holiday season, shopping is fun because there are a lot of sales and discounted items. I like to buy a pair of earings for the pendant I received as a gift from my birthday. Tomorrow is my day off and I want to go and canvass first for sale earings and do also my christmas shopping I did not yet complete it. And on sunday I can finalized everything including the dinner I will host on the eve of Christmas.

Shopping for christmas vacation is fun as well as stressful when we can not find the perfect gift for our love ones. Because giving gifts is a sign to express how much we care and love them. But gifts are not necerassily material things and we can give it everyday not only during holiday season. Anyway speaking of gifts I already completed my list. The only missing now is the Christmas tree, we will buy it this weekend.

Freelance

My brother who has been in vacation for a week in Colorado –skiing in Vail, called us all from his vail lodging telling us how great his vacation is. If I know better he is enticing us all to join him. LOL! Though I would wish to join him in his adventures, I can’t because I just can’t leave my work. Lucky for him he is a freelancer. He could just go wherever he wants to go. I am kinda jealous of him enjoying a lot in life. But someday, when I have saved enough, I would do what I have always want to do –travel! :-)

Laundry Sink

My brother in law is helping out in the kitchen renovation at home. The recent development is that they will be constructing another sink outside of the rear side of the house for laundry purposes. He called the other day to tell my dad to get the American Standard sinks for the sink construction. I have been suggesting that a long time ago because it was hard to do laundry without a sink. I don’t use the washing machine unless I wash denims and beddings. I am really happy about it.

True to Life

I was watching the news yesterday when the news about the last month’s local jewelry store robbery. They have finally arrested the suspects and charged them with proper court cases. The security cameras installed in the jewelry store were the keys in identifying the people who made the crime possible. It’s a good thing the police got the people responsible for the robbery. Who knows, their next target would be the jewelry store near our place.

Next Year Plans

With all the nearly year end busyness, our department had came up with a next year plan. Every year, every department has to make suggestion for next year moves. We all know how our company had grown and we all agree to suggest that the company should do additional charity work. Increasing business gifts, charity gift cards will be an amazing move for the company. There maybe no money profits on these things but they have greater rewards.

In order to be at their best in providing their products and services, one of our suppliers is giving us order fulfillment forms. These will test our satisfaction as their customers. It’s like a feedback form for service evaluation from their customers. It’s a smart move because every customer will have a voice in how they feel about their supplier’s services. It is as well a way of improving their products and how they deliver them.

Aunt’s Concern

My sister called me up yesterday if I was online. While in the office, my aunt sent her an SMS asking her if she knows where to find the best eye wrinkle cream in town. My sister was asking me to find an eye cream online. But I had a better idea. I called my aunt to say I am free that afternoon. I could accompany her to find eye creams at the mall. And so we did. We had fun learning so much about eye creams at the mall’s health and beauty shops.

Bathroom Renovation

When I got home this morning, I was surprised to see that our bathroom is under renovation. My dad forgot to tell me. They will be adding space in the bathroom and also changing the glass tiles into new ones. We will be using the bathroom in the masters’ bedroom while the renovation is going on. I just hope the renovation will be over soon. I frequently visit the bathroom. It’s hard to climb upstairs every now and then. Hehehe!

Early Christmas Shopping

I have started making lists of gifts for Christmas. It may be too early but I don’t want to experience the Christmas rush I had experienced last year. It was stressful. I think I will be starting to buy those gifts including Dutch Master cigars being sold online, on the second week of November. I already made a list of these online products. I am just really excited to do my very early Christmas shopping. I hope it’ll be a lot of fun this time. :-)
